Coming September 28-29, 2024.

Take a step back in time.

Experience the trials and tribulations that the first settlers in the Ohio Territory endured as they fought for and carved out a home. Frontier Spirit 1799 showcases the events and lives of these settlers featuring characters from early Fairfield County and what they faced everyday to survive and thrive. You’ll laugh, cry and learn of the price paid for what we now know as Lancaster, Ohio

Fun for the whole family.

Frontier Spirit is a step back into time that can be enjoyed by all ages. A tent village shows the life of the early settlers with demonstrations by skilled craftsmen of cooking, soap making, blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and more. The large marquis tent provides a place for music by many musicians on various period instruments, speeches by local dignitaries and various skits. Games and activities for children are also part of the village entertainment.

Come see us this September.

Frontier Spirit 1799 will be September 28-29, 2024. We hope to see you there.

Frontier Spirit 1799 shoves off on the last full weekend in September each fall. We are located in the beautiful setting of Alley Park, just outside of Lancaster, Ohio. The event is free and there’s something for everyone at every age.

Concessions are available at very reasonable prices, with snacks, drinks and food-including bean soup cooked in iron kettles over an open fire. The village is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm both days. A church service by a circuit preacher is featured at 9:00am on Sunday morning. Bring the family and enjoy a little bit of living history. This is a free event, but donations are greatly appreciated.
